Codes and Permitting
Codes and Permitting
At HAWK Buildings we do what it takes. We assist you the customer with making sure that the building you want and need meets any and all codes for your city. It is of course the responsibility of the home owner to acquire any and all permits needed to allow us to place this building at your home or place of business. Most cities do not require any permits or approval for buildings under 200 square feet, and most cities only require a minimal building permit for anything over 200 square feet. Some cities have extensive permitting requirements for large buildings, commercial locations, living quarters in already established residential areas, and special requirements for flood and high wind areas. Ask your sales professional and we will find out what it takes to make you another happy HAWK family member.
Hawk will assist you through the code and permitting process, but it is ultimately the customer’s responsibility to ensure compliance. Most cities do not require permit approval for buildings under 200 square feet, and only minimal permitting for buildings over 300 square feet. On the other hand, some cities require extensive permitting for large buildings, commercial locations, living quarters, and areas prone to flood or wind. Before purchasing a building for your home or commercial use, please check with your city and sales professional to ensure all codes are met.
